Ba Bird

Ba Bird

In ancient Egipt, Ba means the ‘soul’s vehicle’.

This is my first Ba Bird, I made it in Melbourne in 2005 after a ‘dream/vision’ where a big bird with the head of a 2 year old boy came to my door and was waiting for me. After that experience I tried to make a sculpture of what I saw and that’s the result. I made it with ceramics and painted with acrylic painting. Over the years I made other versions based in the idea of a bird with a human head. When the being is female I usually add breasts.
