Two heads

Two Heads

Melbourne, 2005.

The head on the left was modeled at the Gasworks Arts Park (where I used to share a model with a group of local artists). The head on the right was made at Carlton Arts Center Pottery School, and I painted both at Melbourne University, where I took a ceramic sculpture course with Sandy Caldow, great artist and teacher, and a beautiful person (and she also loves making heads). For the color combination I was inspired by some shells that I picked up from the beach, motivated by a friend who was just starting out with pottery (and art) and he was looking in nature for the colors for his pieces.
